What are your Opportunities as a registered nurse?

Once you have gained your qualification as a registered nurse or midwife, there are many fantastic opportunities available to you. These opportunities will build on the pre-education training followed in the adult, child, learning disability or mental health branch. Many will require experience and/or further training. Post registration programmes are available through a variety of sources.

• Neonatal nurse

Within the NHS, they may be in the community (such as working in a GP practice, a clinic, a school, walk-in centre or a prison) or in an acute setting, within a hospital (specialising in an area such as outpatients, accident and emergency, operating theatres, cardiac rehabilitation, neonatal care or neurology).
